Update

So I have been off from work for two weeks and have struggled to do so much of BAPP work as we all know tutors have been off. But I have tried my best!!
I have still continued to compare and contrast all my data concentrated on just doing this. I have tried my best to get my head around the havard system.. thanks those who helped me out!! So I have written my first draft off my analysis and am waiting on feedback. I have also done my introduction but still lots and lots more to do!! Lots of words to be writing!!
Hopefully when Alan is back next week I can meet with him for a chat so I can get clear on the next part!!
So good luck everyone!!

Help

So BAPP students I need your help on the Harvard system, it kind of confuses me!! I think I have it then I get feedback and I still don't quite have it right??
Anyone give me an example :)

Easter

So I am still writing up my analysis of all my findings and will then start to do all the final parts. Once this is polished I shall blog it but I am using all my finding in the write up so shall not be blogging the bits as of yet.
But I have really found my inquiry interesting in looking at summer and winter borns and it really has expanded my knowledge in childrens education and how certain children learn and behave. Many teachers I have interviewed I know have thought more about strategies to help children that need it because they may be youngest etc.
If anyone has anything to say on this matter then please go ahead and comment below....

All go!!

So a brief update, I am just making my way through lots of figures I have from my school on children and their scorings in certain subjects. Very useful to me as it is all worked out base on birthdates and sectioned into Autumn spring and summer which has been very interesting and helpful for my inquiry. Analysisng it all is proving to be quite time consuming but as I said it is very useful so worth it. I shall be crafting my report soon so wish me luck :)

Progress

So it's week 5 and I am currently writing a sample analysis of my findings. I have found many articles on the internet and I have carried out a few interviews. I feel positive about my inquiry and am enjoying finding out different views on the thoughts on summer and winter born babies. I am aware campus sessions go on but as I work fulltime I am unable to attend these. But I am in regular contact with Alan on my progress. I'd love to know what people are doing and where they are at with their inquires, do comment below....

Module 3

So after really reading through my feedback and meeting up for a chat with Alan at Hendon I am ready to start module 3. I know I really need to plan my time carefully and do the best I can in the limited hours of the week I have. Already being in week 2 I have started my inquiry on Inclusive Practise, which I am pleased with that being my title. I will blog when I feel to but most of my inquiry I will be doing practically whilst I am at work. So off I go carrying on with it all....

Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection on Professional Practitioner Inquiry
I went off on the wrong track for task 4 I thought I had to come up with questionnaires for people to answer, realising this is not what was expected I had to in fact think of questions to then analyse and think how can I make them better. After adapting my questions and really thinking about each individual question I realised how good you can make a question to get great answers. I realised all my questions were related in some way being all about ages that children start school and the settling down process for reception children. From task 4a I knew it was my line of inquiry. From these tasks I did think of something else I could question this being about the effects on summer born children. So it was me exploring certain topics through questions.(Appendix A)(Appendix B)(Appendix C)(Appendix D)
Reader 5 was interesting and explained to me in detail what I needed to learn about this task. It taught me the most and I referred back to this throughout the task. It was the most educational one for me I learnt lots. I never thought about ethics before at work or at home. It really got me thinking about the way I am with professionals and the general public. It made me think ahead for my inquiry and think of how much there is going to be put into the process. It was great to explore and observe peoples ethics. I enjoyed researched into my settings ethics and whether or not people really do follow them. I learnt that everybody has ethics at home and work. I will really think hard about my ethics for my inquiry. (Appendix E)(Appendix F)(Appendix G)(Appendix H)
Task 6 for me was really key to testing certain ways of collecting data. It was the most time consuming task yet. Which I guess was preparation for what’s to come next. After reading through reader 6 I realised what pilot was. I got that it was testing and trying out different ways of getting information. When I read the reader I really carefully picked which rules I’d go by with the methods. It was not only helpful in deciding what tools I will use for my inquiry but all the data I collected from  the answers I have recoded and plan to use them as part of the inquiry. All that kept going through my mind was ‘to make your practise better’. I wanted to make sure I picked something relevant to me. Something I could apply practically in my practise. I also wanted to do something that wasn’t to open and something that no-one has really touched on before. At the start I was going to call it Early years but as I now have learnt it is too broad. I could take months inquiring about it and I need to really particular so I could get quality out of my inquiry. The tasks have helped me to explore certain topics, I look forward to going deep into the subject.(Appendix I)(Appendix J)(Appendix K)
Appendix of all my research
